I have always loved old cars. I was building models of them before I could read the plans. Just out of High School, I owned a 1930 Cadillac 4-door sedan. It was 6 thousand pounds of metal! It made me appreciate the classics made during the 20’s, 30’s and 1940’s. Since I didn’t have enough money to own a fleet of classic cars and did not have any mechanical talent, I decided to build scale models of all my favorite ones.
I built them all bright, new and shiny, but one day I looked at a 1950 Chevy Bullnose Pick-up Truck I was building and I wondered. “What would this truck look like if it had spent the lastl 50 years abandened in the Arizona desert. The result is what you see below. If you are interested in purchasing a recent model car please dial up: www.etsy.com/shop/classicmodelcars
I have a passion for building models of old cars and trucks. I call them the “Vanishing American Landscape” because of enviromental correct laws today would have them all carted off to the crusher. I believe they represent a strong part of our American Heritage!
Most of these sculptures are 1/24 scale plastic mounted on scenic display stands.
